Alef zoophile identity
The alef zoophile identity was created during an art project. The purpose of the project was to make a new zoophile flag, explicitly inclusive of zoophiles that are often forgotten and abandoned. Learn more about the project.
As an identity, an alef zoo is a zoo who:
- accepts zoophilia as a paraphilia, equal in worth and value to any other paraphilia and any other attraction, normative or no;
- accepts and respects other zoos regardless of their personal features and identities (be that low empathy, sadism, mapness, or something else);
- does not prioritize a particular type of a zoophile as the "official face" of the community and celebrates our diversity and diversity of the animals we're attracted to;
- opposes zoos who are harmful towards animals or the community without attacking their identities;
- seeks solidarity with other marginalized minorities, including other paraphiliacs.
FAQs:
- "Am I allowed to use this flag if my identity isn't listed"? Yes. The list of identities isn't final, it's just an example of zoo diversity.
- "Is this flag pro c or anti c?" This flag is about attractions, not actions. The types of attraction it unites include both attractions to something very harmful and nonconsensual and autophilia, so it would be impossible to create a unified contact stance for this flag anyway.
- "What does alef mean?" Alef is the first letter of the Phoenician alphabet. Its literal meaning is "bull", and it also is the source of the Latin letter A. Here it is used as an alternative to the Greek zeta letter, often used on zoo flags by members of the Zeta movement.
- "Can we still use other flags?" Yes, of course. This isn't a replacement, just a more inclusive alternative.
- "What's wrong with the Zeta movement?" This movement excludes and attacks zoos with unusual and doubly stigmatized attractions. It also has a lot of popular members engaging in ableism, transphobia, and racism.
